Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM)
This model is explained here as one that focuses on reading, writing, and the language system. It is also touted as a model suitable for use with younger students. Personally, I think it can be used in other subjects, particularly when vocabulary needs to be focused upon, and at upper levels. The key is to find the right picture to use. Photographs, drawings, or paintings are all fair game for this (enjoyable) teaching method.
